PEI is an amorphous plastic.It is a kind of amorphous high-performance polymer, which is manufactured by amorphous PEI (polyether imide) engineering plastics after extruder high temperature extrusion.

PEI (Polyetherimide) is a clear amber solid with no additives and inherent flame retardant and low smoke, oxygen index of 47%, combustion grade ul94-v-0, density of 1.28~1.42g/cm3.PEI has a high temperature stability, even non-enhanced PEI, still has a good toughness and strength.Therefore, the advantage of PEI's superior thermal stability can be used to make high-temperature heat-resistant devices.Excellent mechanical properties, electrical insulation, radiation resistance, high and low temperature resistance and wear resistance, and can be through the microwave.PEI also has good flame resistance, chemical resistance and electrical insulation.The glass transition temperature is very high, up to 215℃.PEI also has very low shrinkage and good isodirectional mechanical properties.Glass fiber, carbon fiber or other fillers can be added to enhance the purpose of modification;It can also be made of heat-resistant polymer alloy with other engineering plastics, which can be used for a long time at the working temperature of -160 ~ 180℃.

The long-term service temperature of polyetherimine resin is 338T and 356T (according to the grade), and the combustion grade is UL94V -- 0 (10 mil thickness).With an oxygen index of 47, polyether imide meets FAA material standards for flame retardant and thermal diluent properties required for aircraft interiors.It has a vitreous transition temperature of 419F and allows intermittent use at 392F, producing short-term offset at higher temperatures.At 356T, the tensile temperature and flexural modulus are respectively above 41 and 2068MPa.The glass fiber and carbon fiber reinforced materials have higher strength and stiffness when they are close to the glass transition temperature.

The long-term creep resistance of polyether imides to high temperatures and stresses allows them to replace metals and other materials in many structural devices.Excellent electrical performance at variable temperature, humidity and frequency.The low loss factor at the GHz frequency makes polyether imide have high microwave penetrability.It has a low level of ionic pollutants at 250F100% R.H.And the conductivity after 120 hours of water extraction at 207kPa, above 20 megohm, which can be used as an insulating material for electronic sensor elements.

PEI is an excellent coating and film forming material that can form coatings and films suitable for the electronics industry and can be used to produce highly permeable microporous membranes with pore sizes < 0.1 microns.It can also be used as high temperature adhesive and high strength fiber.

I. main characteristics of PEI

1. PEI's whole name (polyetherimide) is an amber transparent solid with good flame retardant and low smoke. Its combustion grade is ul94-v-0.

2, PEI has a strong high-temperature stability, high temperature resistance, thermal deformation temperature up to 220℃, can be used for a long time under the operating temperature of -160 -- 180℃.

3, hydrolysis stability is good, resistant to high temperature, resistant to steam;

4, polyether imide has a good anti-ultraviolet, Y - ray performance.

Optical fiber connectors are manufactured by replacing metal to optimize the structure of components, simplify their manufacturing and assembly steps, and maintain more accurate dimensions.Used in automotive applications, such as high temperature connectors, production, high power lights and indicators, sensors to control the external temperature of car cabins and sensors to control air and fuel mixtures.It can also be used as vacuum pump impeller resistant to high temperature lubrication erosion, grinding glass joint (socket) for distillation unit operating at 180℃, reflection mirror of anti-fog lamp for non-illumination.
